3、 improve its competitiveness. Efficiency is the concentrated reflection of the competitiveness of the bank. The paper can be divided into three parts： The first part introduces the significance of the research on commerc

4、ial bank efficiency. The second part introduces the methods that the paper advocates. Firstly, this part interprets the basic meaning of the bank efficiency. Secondly, it introduces the approaches applied in the research

5、es ： Parameter analysis approach and Non-parametric analysis approach. It also compares the advantages and disadvantages of the two kinds of approaches. At last, it introduces the core of this paper-the Data Envelopment

6、 Analysis and its principle and methodology. The third part is the specialized part of the paper - positive analysis part. Firstly, it put forward the proposal that the efficiency of China Construction Bank Tianjin branc

7、h should be raised by contrasting the operating data of the end of 2007 with other bank branches in Tianjin. Then, the paper chooses the DEA input-orientated models to computer the efficiency of 19 subsidiary organizatio

8、ns of CCB Tianjin branch in the region of 2007. On the basis of cost efficiency，it is resolved into allocative efficiency， purely technological efficiency and scale efficiency. And then, it draws the conclusion that the

9、poor cost efficiency is mainly for the poor scale efficiency. After that, according to the analysis result, it raises the improved suggestion concluding streamlining the staff and outlets, reducing the cost of deposits,
